"Throughout life, everyone is going to come across the “oh shit” moments of how to deal and cope with un-preferred circumstances. Like when shit hits the fan, your default response becomes, 'motherfuck this!', 'motherfuck that!'. Sometimes it feels like throwing yourself headfirst into the dumpster fires of human dramas, as an inevitable consequence of living life. Yet, at the same time, a necessary experience to help transcend the stagnating patterns that run us. So today we are going to talk about one of the most endearing aspects of the spiritual journey. The art of dealing with shit storms.
For anyone familiar with the self-help world, there is the popular idea of 'positive thinking', where one chooses to focus only on what they want and desire out of a situation and having that manifest, while systematically putting the kabosh on whatever thoughts, feelings, or ideas that are deemed as 'negative'. This idea was fairly popularized by the likes of Napoleon Hill, along with countless other self help authors during the 20th century. Now there is nothing necessarily wrong with this idea, as it has been responsible for helping many pull themselves from a place of victimhood into a place of empowerment, which is always the first step in mastering one’s reality. However, as you continue to progress in your journey, you will come to a point where certain truths of the past will slowly become irrelevant, as your mind slowly evolves and becomes more receptive to new ideas that were not previously within the bounds of acceptable reality. This is why dogmatic thinking and the act of putting certain teachers and ideas on a pedestal, can be the most dangerous thing for your growth. Going back to the idea of positive thinking and manifestation. Why has this only seemed to work for very few people? With all of the Tony Robbins and Law of Attraction workshops out there, you’d expect everyone to be rolling in the dough and living the life of their dreams, yet this doesn’t seem to be the case. Now, if you are one of those people who have been using affirmations everyday such as 'I am rich and wealthy', or 'I am a confident, attractive person', then ask yourself, from what place are these affirmations coming from? Or better yet, what is your relationship with the affirmations that are driving you to use them in the first place? If you are using wealth affirmations for no other reason than the fact that your bank account is on the verge of flat lining, then you know your relationship with the affirmation is one of lack. So in polarity, your affirmation will only serve to reinforce the fact that you are dead broke and 'don’t have', since you are trying to convince yourself of something, not out of authenticity or true abundance, but from a place of limitation where you are trying to copy and emulate something some 'self-help d-bag' said, who likely has never been successful in anything outside of selling advice and courses and telling people why they are broken. So what’s important to understand about creating abundance and flow in life, is that highly intentioned thought, and tendencies to control and measure outcomes, naturally catapult you into the energizing of lack, simply due to polarity. When you declare an intention into the future such as, 'I’m going to make $20 grand more this year than the last', or 'I’m going to increase my client base by X amount', you are essentially declaring that you are lacking and incomplete in the now, which is why you require goal setting and intention in the first place. So don’t be surprised when you start taking action towards the outcome and end up getting thrown neck deep in a shitty experience full of effort and pain. Unfortunately, this seems to be the story of everyone’s life on this planet. So if you are tired of living by that paradigm, then here is an offering: Accept and allow everything and anything that comes into your awareness no matter how shitty or wonderful. Instead of living from a place of intentioned thought and the need to control exactly what happens in your life, live from a place of unconditional surrender and acceptance, as this completely transcends polarity. 'But Roxie, I see how acceptance can bring about peace of mind, but if I don’t intend or focus on what I want in life, then how will the universe know to give me my miracles, rather than a life full of misery and frustration?' Well young jedi, you are asking the wrong question. The universe and your entire reality consists of nothing but unconditional love. Therefore, your higher self is constantly pulling in miracles towards you on its own, to fulfill every desire you can possibly conceive of, but the fractalized portion of your mind (a.k.a. ego) has a tendency to either block or misinterpret the miracles coming your way. So the key here is to just get out of your own way and let your higher mind lay things out for you effortlessly. “So how do I get out of my own way?” Once again, the key is to simply accept and allow everything that flows into your awareness. If your boss starts acting like an asshole all of a sudden, you just simply accept and allow him to be an asshole without any intention or desire to try to change, control, or teach him a lesson. The act of allowing and accepting has a dismantling effect on the lack based vibration you initially define into the object, allowing the space necessary for the miracles to flow through and express. So you see, the use of intentional thought will slow down the process of achieving flow and abundance. On a practical level, all this really translates to is that you should only act in the most authentic ordinary way to yourself. Let every moment be complete in of itself without creating any goals or intentions that need to be achieved in the future, due to the assumed lack in the now. Once again, choose only what you want to do and surrender to your own nature, and the entire universe will yield.
